Home of the TV series M.A.S.H. Watch out for the shenanigans of Hawkeye.

Duck yakiniku. Donald gave his life to provide us with one of the best meals I’ve had for a while.

Unfortunately, many of the traditional “bark” based dishes of North Korea have failed to penetrate to the South.

Well, we stayed in a nice hotel, so they were good.

Ah, South Korea. For the weary traveler coming from Japan, it’s an exotic mix of everything you left Japan to escape from.

The traditional architecture, entertainment, and food are remarkably similar, which has no doubt led to the enormous respect and friendship the two countries have enjoyed over the years. Not with each other of course…..

Traveling with two Americans, their highlight for Korea, was the fact that the found a Crispy Crème donut store in the giant shopping mall "Lotte World". If that’s a highlight, you can guess what a wonderful time we had.

Said shopping mall also had a theme park, indoor fireworks display and even a shooting range. Children visiting "Lotte World" are advised not to nag their mothers too much.

Mount Ingwansan rises above the centre of Seoul and provides spectacular views of the city. Hopefully you have a good memory, because it’s also covered in Military bases and you are forbidden to take pictures.

In the demilitarized zone, you can stand in the aptly named South Korean “freedom village” and look at the North Korean “propaganda village”. Luckily the South Koreans are far too civilized to resort to propaganda.

Then it’s off to see the enormous tunnel the North Koreans dug across the border. Originally thought to be part of an invasion plan, it turns out that they were actually hunting a particularly stubborn rabbit.
